Planting Instructions

Vertical wall mounting planting instructions

The Pipe Planter Base
  1. The Pipe Planter comes preassembled and ready to start planting, however it is best first to measure and install the holding bracket supplied. The holding bracket must be placed ¾ way up the pipe and not cover up any planting holes.
  2. Using the soil provided and a small hand spade, start filling up to the first set of holes. Gently compress the soil and fill up to first ¼ of hole.
  3. Remove your plant plug from the container and remould the root ball into a cylinder; this can be done by first scratching away the corners of the plug and then squeezing the root ball into a cylinder shape. It helps if the root ball is wet.
  4. Perforate the paper in hole and slide the root ball in, pushing into place.
  5. Add more soil to the pipe and continue to fill up, it helps to use a broom stick or hands to compress the soil around the new planting and make sure soil is firm all around.
  6. Continue alternating holes as you go up and lasagne layer your new plantings on top of each other with soil.
  7. Lift the Pipe Planter into place on wall where rear bracket has been secured and screw front bracket into place over the Pipe Planter.
  8. Couple the hose pipe to the connector and turn tap ¼ turn on, the water pressure must be low and just enough to start trickling at the top, when it starts dripping out bottom turn off hose, wait a few minutes before disconnecting to allow the water in the Pipe Planter time to disperse.
  9. Water your new garden as necessary and keep soil moist as your growing plants take hold. Sit back and enjoy.

Pipe Planter Extensions
  1. Measure where your extension will be going and secure bracket to wall, the holding bracket is best placed ¾ way up the pipe. Make sure you take into account that the extension will slide 40mm onto base.
  2. From your Base Pipe Planter remove the end plug from the drip hose.
  3. Unclip the drip hose from the extension and insert into the hose of the base. Push firmly into place. Reinsert the end plug into the extended drip hose. It is easier if you wrap a hot water cloth around the hose to warm it up
  4. Slide the Pipe Planter Extension over the drip hose and into Base making sure the planting holes line up, firmly pushing in all the way. Clip the now extended drip hose into the clip of the extension making sure the white line is facing front
  5. Screw on the front retaining bracket.
  6. Start filling up with soil to your first set of hole and continue planting as you did before.
  7. You can add up to 3 extensions repeating steps above.
  8. Water your new garden as necessary and keep soil moist as your growing plants take hold. Sit back and enjoy.

Replanting your Pipe Planter
  1. Allow your Garden to completely dry out.
  2. Unscrew front retaining brackets and lifting up; remove each section of the Pipe Planter.
  3. Pull out old plants from planting holes
  4. Turn upside down and shake out old soil.
  5. After having given a good wash reline the inside of Pipe Planter with a sheet of newspaper.
  6. Start filling up and planting as before.
